Former President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has said that President Bidya Devi Bhandari violated the Constitution by not authenticating the Citizenship Bill (first amendment) which was submitted to her after the endorsement by the federal parliament for two times.
The former President said so addressing a programme held after the foundation laying for the construction of Saraswati Namuna Secondary School in Janakpurdham today.
He said that it was duty of all to follow the Constitution written by the people’s representatives so as to move democracy forward.
“A dignified institution as the President should not work against the dignity of the institution. It is the duty of us all to follow the constitution. There has been a direct violation of the constitution in relation to the dissolution of the parliament two times by the Prime Minister just last year. Such types of activities only benefit the regressive forces. Therefore, we all have to be cautious to prevent such events,” said former President Dr. Yadav.
