Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the process was forwarded to carry out a feasibility study and make a master plan to run medical science classes at Sudurpaschim University and establish a medical college in Dadeldhura.
Required budget has been allocated to run a medical college in collaboration with the University, said the PM while addressing a convocation ceremony organised in Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur on Friday.
On the occasion, he stressed the need for university education to be practical and the one that helps manage livelihood and develop and transform the society. “Scientific and technical workforces are required to additionally strengthen democracy and speed up the transformation of the country’s economy. Universities should carry out reforms in education and administrative works to keep up with the competitive world.”
He also praised the University for its role on ‘expanding citizens’ access to higher education and producing qualified human resources’. On the occasion, the PM handed medals to the graduated students.
Similarly, Vice Chancellor of the Kumaun University in India, Prof. N.K. Joshi and Minister for Education, Science and Technology of Nepal Devendra Paudel also put their view at the event. (RSS)
