A joint meeting of Chief District Officers (CDO) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts has decided to extend the prohibitory order in Kathmandu Valley by another week till June 21.
The meeting decided to extend the prohibitory orders with the conclusion that the risk of coronavirus has decreased, however, necessary precautions are needed to break the chain infection.
CDO of Kathmandu District, Kali Prasad Parajuli, said that the prohibition has been relaxed to some extent as the infection rate has been declining.
The meeting has decided to allow vegetable shops, grocery shops and departmental stores to open till 11 am. Online home delivery services will also be allowed to operate.
The administration has also decided to allow the opening of book stores keeping in mind the upcoming academic session. The book shops and stores will be allowed to open till 11 am.
Similarly, hardware shops will be allowed to open after 4 pm.
Visa processing service for EDV and abroad studies has also been resumed.
In the previous discussions of the Chief District Officers, it was also discussed to allow vehicles to ply the Valley roads in an odd-even system. However, transportation service relaxation was not included in Sunday’s meeting after the health ministry said it would be risky to do so.
