The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leaders have appealed to the voters to cast votes for the RPP candidates in the upcoming November 20 elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and provincial assembly.
At an election assembly organised here by the party, Chairman Rajendra Lingden urged the voters to make his party winner to end price hike, and corruption and resolve the issues of poor healthcare and education while bring an end to unemployment.
Appointments should be made in a transparent way based on meritocracy and the judiciary restructured once, Lingden said.
Chancellor and vice-chancellor in the universities should be picked on the basis of qualification and capacity by scrapping the provision of prime minister and education minister in those positions of the university. Arguing that healthcare, education and justice system should be equal and free of cost for all, he said subsidized loan should be given to the farmers with the timeline of 15 years.
On the occasion, RPP leader Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani asked the voters to vote for the party to end rampant corruption.
Likewise, senior vice-chairman of RPP Rabindra Mishra his party was for country’s economic, social and cultural development while safeguarding country’s sovereignty and indivisibility.
In the party’s election manifesto, the RPP has pitched for directly-elected prime minister with maximum of two tenures.
Meanwhile, addressing a separate election assembly at Waling of Syangja district on Friday, Chairman Lingden said the country’s status would be elevated if people shifted their votes.
The upcoming elections were not only the periodic ones and the people should elect good party and leaders. “We suffered a lot for failing to elect right party and right leaders,” he stressed.
“I won’t engage in corruption and let others commit. I have a wish to bulldoze corrupt trends,” according to Lingden.
On the occasion, actress Manisha Koirala said RPP has stuck to the ideas floated by BP Koirala, thus she backed the party.
