Two local levels in Tanahun district have received a budget of Rs. 1.34 billion for road upgradation thanks to the support from the World Bank, Vyas Municipality and Shuklagandaki Municipality.
The said amount was received in coordination with the Urban Governance and Infrastructure Development Project.

A contract agreement was signed in Kathmandu on Friday between the Chief of Urban Governance and Infrastructure Development Project, Navaraj Pyakurel and Vyas Municipality Mayor Baikuntha Neupane.
As per the agreement, Vyas will receive Rs. 750.3 million. The project aims at fostering tourism in both the rural and urban areas within the two municipalities via road upgradation.

Furthermore, the project also aims at curbing the unchecked migration from villages to the city areas by improving infrastructure, trade and tourism in the remote parts of the two municipalities.

In addition to this, Shuklagandaki Municipality has also reached an agreement with the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction to upgrade the roads connecting the distant areas within the municipality to the main road network.

Under the agreement, the municipal office has been allotted a budget of Rs. 590 million, which will be invested in constructing the Dulegaunda-Lamagaon motorway, Thaprek motorway and Tinkhole-Bayam-Bhujikot motorway.

The project is estimated to complete within the next five years.
