The ruling parties have forged an agreement on 100 out of 165 seats to be shared among them in the election of the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) slated for November 20.
Jhalanath Khanal, leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist), informed that the meeting of the ruling coalition held today at Baluwatar made the agreement.
“We dwelt on forging an electoral alliance in the November 20 poll. We have so far reached an agreement on forging an alliance in 100 seats out of 165. Sharing of the remaining seats will be concluded in the next meeting,” said leader Khanal after the meeting.
Prime Minister and president of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ Janata Samajwadi Party Chairman Upendra Yadav, leaders of Rashtriya Janamorcha as well as members of the seat allocation task force also participated in the meeting, according to leader Khanal.
The next meeting of the ruling coalition is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday morning.
