The Supreme Court has ordered the release of Charles Sobhraj from prison.
A joint bench of justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Tilak Prasad Shrestha made the decision to free Sobhraj from jail effective today.
Sobhraj has been serving jail terms for different crimes including murders.
A habeas corpus was filed demanding that Sobhraj, 78, should be given the prison term concession as a senior citizen.
The SC verdict has also asked the concerned authority to arrange for Sobharj to return to his country within 15 days.
