Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has called an all-party meeting at 2:00 pm tomorrow.
The Speaker called the meeting to discuss the latest political development in the wake of the registration of impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana, according to Shreedhar Acharya, media expert to Speaker Sapkota.
The impeachment motion was registered at the federal parliament secretariat at 1:00 am today. It was proposed by CPN (Maoist Centre)’s Dev Prasad Gurung, Nepali Congress’ Dr Pushpa Bhusal and CPN (Unified Socialist)’s Jeevan Ram Shrestha which was backed by 98 lawmakers including Dr Minendra Rijal.
In the impeachment motion, CJ Rana has been accused of being incompetent.
