Two of the three members of a family residing in Suncity Apartments in Manohara of Kathmandu have tested positive for COVID-19.
Their swab samples were sent to Teku for PCR test after traces of infection was seen in Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) carried out on Monday.
The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has updated in its official Facebook page that 58-year-old male and 81-year-old female have tested positive for COVID-19 while the third suspect tested negative during the PCR test.
All three of them have been kept at Patan Hospital for treatment.
According to MoHP, RDT have begun for other residents of Suncity Apartments while contact tracing is also underway.
The apartment building has been sealed as a precaution to contain the spread of the virus after the three residents tested positive on Monday’s RDT.
With this, the total number of coronavirus positive cases stands at 16.
