The people of Char Tange, Simkot Rural Municipality–7, no longer have to risk their lives when crossing the Bagle Hekpa River during the monsoon thanks
to a newly-constructed suspension bridge. Crossing the bridge on Monday, Ward Chairman Balbari Shahi said that bridge had made crossing the river easy for the locals.
Recalling how people feared crossing the rickety wooden bridge over the river in the past, he rejoiced that everyone would now be able to move freely, even during the rainy season.
Chief District Officer Sita Pariyar said that the new bridge would not just benefit people but also the animals. While no human lives were ever lost, many animals did use to slip from the wooden bridge and fall into the river below.
Pariyar was in Char Tange to observe and cross the new metallic suspension bridge. The federal government provided money for the construction of the over 70 metres long bridge.
