A teen girl has been smeared with acid by two youths in Birgunj metropolitan city this morning. According to police, Muskan Katun, 15 y/o was attacked with acid at Ganeshman chowk while she was going to school on Friday morning.
She was immediately taken to Narayani Sub-regional hospital after the incident. Her face, forehead and hands were burnt by the time when she was admitted to the hospital, said a doctor at the hospital.
She has then been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital.
Police have arrested one of the attackers following the incident, while another is absconding.
The attackers have been identified as Samsad Miya and Makshed Alam. Alam is on the run.
Both the attackers and the victim are said to be neighbors.
Motive behind the attack is still unknown.
