Teku Hospital Resumes, Extends Non-COVID OPD Services

Following the decrease in the flow of COVID-19 patients, Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital (STIDH), Teku has resumed and extended the non-COVID Out-Patients Department (OPD) services.

The hospital was dedicated to providing treatment to those infected with the novel coronavirus infection during the first and second waves of the pandemic.

As the cases of COVID-19 began to decline, the hospital resumed all its non-COVID services, along with the extension of the OPD department on another floor from this week.

According to OPD in-charge Dr. Shankar Pandey, health services relating to pediatrics, dermatology, sexually transmitted diseases, internal medicine, and orthopedic services had been resumed in the hospital.

“We have also expanded the existing ODP to a new floor, which used to be an isolation centre for COVID-19 patients,” said Dr. Pandey.

At present, between 150 and 200 patients using the OPD services daily, informed Dr. Pandey.
