The meeting of the top leaders of the ruling five parties scheduled for Friday has been rescheduled for Saturday.
The meeting of Friday was expected to finalise the seat sharing issue. However, the meeting was postponed because of the busy schedule of the top leaders of the ruling parties.
The five ruling parties which have decided to contest the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies by forging an electoral alliance have been holding series of meeting to divide the seats of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies among them.
On Friday, Prime Minister and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-Maoist Centre chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, CPN (Unified Socialist) chair Madhav Kumar Nepal and Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal chair Upedendra Yadav were busy attending the party functions outside the valley.
Yadav told The Rising Nepal that the meeting was rescheduled for Saturday.
The meeting on Saturday is expected to finalise seat sharing issue on the basis of the report prepared by the seat sharing taskforce formed by the ruling parties.
When asked about rumours that his party was quitting the present coalition over the dispute on seat sharing issue, Yadav refuted the news reports and said his party was committed to giving continuity to the current coalition.
