Transferred Cops Don’t Have To Carry Their Mattress Now

Police personnel transferred to the District Police Office, Kapilvastu, now do not have to carry their mattress with them thanks to ‘One Youth One Bed’ programme launched in the district.
In the past, the police personnel posted to the District Police Office had to carry mattress by themselves as the office lacked required beds for the police personnel.
The obligation has ended after the required number of mattresses was procured under the ‘One Youth One Bed’ programme.

A mattress to each, from constable to junior staff personnel, was handed over amidst a function held at the office on Wednesday. Chief and Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Karki handed over the mattress to the police personnel.
SP Karki said that the junior ranking personnel would have a comfortable sleep during the cold season while they are not on duty.

Such types of programmes had been implemented by the District Police Office, Kaski and Area Police Office, Itahari, said District Police Office and Spokesperson for Kapilvastu Police Dharmaraj Bhandari.
Police constable Shanta Khatri said that now onwards the police personnel transferred to the District Police Office do not have to carry beds and their belongings.

Currently, the programme has been implemented only in the District Police Office of Kapilvastu.
Similar programme will be implemented in other police units in the district only after managing sufficient budget, said Bhandari.
