The Tribhuvan University (TU) has decided to conduct all exams suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic within this year.
The Office of the Controller of Examinations is preparing to conduct all suspended exams this year and to regularise its exam calendar.
Controller of Examinations Pushpa Raj Joshi said the crisis had hampered the examinations regular schedule. As he said, the Office is ready to organise the exams amidst the risk of the arrival of the third wave of the virus. “If possible, we make it possible in physical presence by adopting all health safety measures and if not, we will go online and restore the exam calendar,’’ he said.
The exam of Bachelor’s level which had to be conducted last year is yet to take place. The TU has planned to conduct the exams of first and second-year programmes under the Bachelor’s degree after mid-July and the first year of Bachelor’s level under the faculty of law and the final year of the Master’s degree then after.
According to Joshi, they are preparing for concluding the examinations for the year 2077 BS before the Dashain festival and implementing the 2078 BS schedule after the festival.
He said that examinations of all four years of Bachelor’s level and first year of Master’s level will be held after Dashain. As he informed, 250 thousand students will be attending in the pre-Dashain examinations and around 600 thousand students will participate in the post-Dashain examination.
The TU has introduced a provision under which students are allowed to sit for the examinations for the centre accessible for them.
This provision is especially targeted at those students outside of the Kathmandu Valley and who are currently at their homes owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Students are requested to mention the exam centre of their choice within the exam form so that the TU could make arrangements for conducting the exams accordingly.
