On Monday evening, Hotel Kangaroo in Chitwan summoned the local police to their hotel after a residing guest refused to open the door despite several knocks. The police duly arrived, broke open the door, only to find popular TV journalist Salikram Pudasaini hanging from the ceiling – he was pronounced dead on the scene.
A popular journalist, Pudasaini was currently working for Mountain Television as a host for ‘Mission News’. Prior to this, he had worked for News 24 Television, in the nationally popular TV Show ‘Sidha Kura Janatasanga’ alongside national sensation Rabi Lamichhane. He was respected for his reporting, known to have covered a wide range of topics for the two television channels.
Police will be launching a formal investigation – according to preliminary reports, there was no evidence of foul play in the room. Meanwhile, social media is ablaze with reports of ‘suspected foul play’ involved in his death, the public has been heard demanding an immediate and proper investigation by the police.
