The DAOs of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts of Kathmandu Valley have decided to ease the ongoing prohibitory order from Thursday, 10th September, 2020.
According to reports, vehicular movement (private vehicles and public vehicles) will be permitted to move in adherence to the odd-even number plate rule.
Businesses of certain sectors will be allowed to operate, however, further details is awaited.
A prohibitory order was issued within Kathmandu Valley from 20th August, 2020, keeping in mind increased risks of community transmission. Initially imposed for a week, the order was extended twice for one week respectively. The current prohibitory order is scheduled to end on 9th September, 2020 (11:59 p.m).
Meanwhile, number of cases within Kathmandu Valley continues to rise – on Wednesday, Kathmandu recorded 464 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
Amidst the easing of restrictions, health authorities and government officials have asked the public to follow health precautions, namely, to wear a mask when going out, to maintain physical distance of 1.5 metres, to wash hands with soap and water, or sanitize when there is no access to water, and to monitor symptoms.
