As active coronavirus cases are on the decline in Banke district, the number of available beds at local hospitals has increased.
With the sudden surge of coronavirus cases following second wave of pandemic, hospital beds in the district were completely packed and even critical patients were receiving treatment in open spaces.
According to Naresh Babu Shrestha, Public Health Officer at the Health Office, Banke, a total of 72 beds including 27 in Covid Ward of Bheri Hospital, 27 in Nepalgunj Medical College, 13 in Western Hospital and 5 in United Hospital are available as of Tuesday evening.
A total of 170 infected people were being treated at 200-bed capacity Bheri Hospital on Tuesday while 102 people were being treated at 130-bed capacity Nepalgunj Medical College.
Public Health Officer Shrestha said that covid beds in hospitals are becoming vacant as the number of serious corona infections has been declining recently.
Similarly, infection rate has also decreased in the last two weeks in Rautahat.
Twenty-six persons out of 203, whose swab samples were taken, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. One person tested positive for antigens.
Chief District Officer Indra Dev Yadav said as many as 1,006 persons had tested positive for the virus till date of them, 203 have recovered.
There are 757 active cases in Rautahat till date. Of them, 724 are in home isolation, 30 are receiving general treatment and four others are receiving treatment in other districts.
