Work At Dulli Kuna, Lalibagar Of Karnali Corridor In Final Stage

Work at Dulli Kuna and Lalibagar area of Humla section in the Karnali Corridor has reached the final stage. Hilsa Simkot Road Project, the undertaking agency for the section, had recently expedited the work to blast in the rocky mountainous area, and other construction.

Likewise, two construction companies are working at Salli Salla-Chhare section and Kharpu-Sunakhada section. PS Caravan Congri JV is constructing the road at the first section and Sapana Dhulikhel JV the second.

According to an engineer of the project, Niraj Kumar Rajbansi, only work for only 500 metre is remaining at Kharpu-Lalibagar and 50 metre rocky area is to be blasted at Dulli Kuna.
“The blasting is expedited on both the fronts. Blasting and levelling by the excavator are going on simultaneously,” he said while adding that after next a couple of blasts, levelling in the remaining areas will also begin.

Apart from the rocky parts, opening of tracks and levelling is completed. The project said that the work will be completed within this fiscal year 2021/22. However, a bridge over the Karnali River at the Kabadi-Salli Salla section couldn’t be constructed even though the part is handed over to the project by the Nepal Army.

Likewise, seven kilometres of the total 12 KM in Simkot-Kharpu road is yet to be constructed. The work was disturbed due to the obstruction from the landowners. Although the landowners have agreed to allow road construction, there has been no progress so far.
