Users are facing problems in Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp. While they can open the app, some major functions are missing.
Today, Facebook and Instagram are partially down for some users around the world. Users can open the platforms; however, users are complaining that they are not able to use all the services. They went on to Twitter to vent their frustration.
Facebook, also, went to Twitter to explain the issue and assuring to resolve as soon as possible. Initially, speculation was made that the outage could be related to DDos. Facebook denied the issue to be related to DDos (Distributed Denial of service) attack. DDos is a type of hack in which company’s network is flooded by attackers.
According to Downdetector.com, users in Japan, Malaysia, parts of Australia, bigger parts of the USA, Mexico, Peru and other parts of world are having severe problems with Facebook. Currently, there is more than 12000 reports of Instagram outage in Downdetector.com itself.
Whatsapp users are reporting of problems in sending and receiving messages, connection and log-in as well. Live outage map shows that currently Singapore, Malaysia, parts of Peru, Colombia, Mexico and other parts are reporting of Whatsapp outage.
