Govt entrusts Chinese company to build outer Ring Road

The government has entrusted a Chinese company to build the over 70 km outer ring road in Kathmandu Valley. They have emphasized on finishing the project within the stipulated deadline.

In a meeting held at Singha Durbar in the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, the 40th Investment Board handed the responsibility of constructing the road to Chinese Communication and Construction Company. The pick was chosen among many other companies shortlisted for the project.

Apart from the outer ring road project, the convene has also selected the Zurich Airport International AG to prepare a project plan of the Nijgadh International Airport under the Public-Private Partnership concept. Both companies have been ordered to submit the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs).

Furthermore, presenting the progress report to the PM, the meeting also had a discussion on other new projects like West Seti and SR VI Joint Hydro Power Project and Lower Arun Hydro Power Project. Separate committees have been formed to short list the companies to take over the projects. PM Oli has told concerned ministries and agencies to collaborate closely in order to get the projects done on time.
