One Nepali national has died in the United Kingdom after being infected with COVID-19.
The deceased has been identified as 66-year-old Lila Bahadur Rai, a former Gurkha soldier. A permanent resident of Sankhwasabha, Rai was living in Harrow of London in the UK with his family.
He breathed his last on 17 March (Tuesday) at the Harrow-based Northwick Park Hospital, according to an online news portal. Rai was also suffering from diabetes and high bood pressure.
He had also undergone a kidney transplant two years ago. The hospital confirmed that the cause of his death was COVID-19 later on Friday.
The entire family of the deceased has been kept in isolation for the time being.
