Student falls to her death trying to take selfie

A young American student has fallen to her death while attempting to take a selfie on a cliff edge.

Andrea Norton, 20, a student of biology and environmental science in Briar Cliff university had travelled to Hawksbill Crag in Arkansas’ Ozark National Forest with other students as class activity on Sunday. According to the accounts of witnesses, she was taking selfie, then she repositioned her feet which led her to fall over 30 metres.

After the incident, 61 emergency personnel responded the scene. Norton was part of university’s women’s volleyball team. Her university expressed their sorrow on her death and stated her as an exemplary student and athlete.

Incidents like this provide a warning on the safety while in dangerous places where if not careful can result in devastating situation.
