Finance Minister Khatiwada resigns


Spokesperson of the government and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Dr Yubraj Khatiwada.

Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada, who was also serving as the Minister for Communication and Information Technology, and as the government’s spokesperson has tendered his resignation today.

In the Cabinet meeting held today, Prime Minister Oli thanked Minister Khatiwada for performing an important responsibility in the government.

Minister Khatiwada’s term as the member of the National Assembly expires tomorrow midnight, which will automatically invalidate his position in the government.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli also informed the meeting of central secretariat of his party, Nepal Communist Party, held yesterday that the government would recommend leader Bamdev Gautam as the member of the National Assembly.

Although today’s Cabinet meeting was expected to recommend NCP leader Gautam to the President for approving him as a member of the National Assembly, no information was given in this regard.
