Number of domestic and foreign tourists has increased in Ghodepani and Punhill of Myagdi from Saturday after the weather improved in the area.
Hotel business entrepreneurs are excited after the domestic tourists started arriving in Ghodepani and Punhill of Annapurna Rural Municipality-6, Myagdi during the national holidays for Dashain and Tihar. Likewise, the national holiday is the best time for the students to visit the areas.
Biren Pun, chairman of Ghodepani Tole Reform Committee, informed that the hoteliers had been excited after the increase in the number of tourists in the Ghodepani and Punhill areas covered by the world-famous Round Annapurna Trekking Route. A beautiful Himalayan range and sunrise can be seen from the Annapurna Pathway.
Everyday, hundreds of domestic and foreign tourists visit Punhill located at an altitude of 3,210 metres from the sea level.
The hotels in Punhill are occupied with many tourists at present. It is also the first tourism destination choice for the tourists. The locals have constructed a pathway from Ghodepani to Punhill by collecting donations.
Hotel Management Committee chairman, Mina Pun, informed that the flow of tourists had increased from mid-September. She added that it was the best time to visit the place and many tourists had arrived since the weather had improved after the continuous rainfall and the roads were open.
Suren Gurung, a local, informed that many tourists visit Punhill to see the sunrise and its rays falling in the Himalayan range from East to West.
More than 20 snow peaks in the Himalayan range of Manaslu, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, which are more than 8,000 metres high, can be closely observed from Punhill. There are 26 small and big hotels in Ghodepani. (Source : TRN,)
