Two people have died, and eighteen people are reportedly missing after heavy rain triggered floods and landslides in Jambu, Bahrabise Municipality, Sindhupalchowk District.
According to Mayor Nimphunjo Sherpa of Bahrabise Municipality, flooding in Khagdal and Aadhikhola rivers swept away bridges and roads. The downpour and resulting devastation has further affected rescue efforts.
Likewise, the swollen Bhotekoshi river has damaged different places along the Bahrabise-Tatopani road section of Araniko Highway.
The incessant rainfall has caused a huge damage in different areas in Tatopani in the district. It is reported that the flood swept away 15 houses.
Superintendent of Police of Sindhupalchowk Prajjwal Maharjan said that the security teams are reaching the site.
