Election Update: Nepali Congress maintains its run as the top contender in many constituencies, CPN-UML following


Nepali Congress has maintained its position on leadership board as the top contender in various constituencies for the House of Representatives election.

Till Tuesday evening, NC has taken a lead in 47 of the total 165 seats while claiming wins in 4 constituencies.

Meanwhile, CPN-UML is closely following Nepali Congress with a lead in 41 constituencies and with wins in 2 constituencies.

Likewise, CPN Maoist Center are currently leading in 15 constituencies, Rastriya Swatantra Party in 11, NCP (Unified Socialist) in 7 and Rastriya Prajatantra Party in 6, Janata Samajwadi Party in 5 constituencies.

Nepali Congress candidates have been declared winners in four​constituencies – Manang, Mustang, Kathmandu -1 and Kathmandu -4. Likewise, UML have been declared winners in two constituencies– Lalitpur-2 and Kathmandu-9. Nagarik Unmukti Party has won a seat in Kailali-3.

Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Rabi Lamichhane has finally taken the lead after jumping between the second and third spots in Chitwan-2. As per the latest data from the Election Commission, Lamichhane has received 4007 votes so far.
