The government is all set to administer Vero Cell vaccines against COVID-19 Monday onward. The District Health Office, Kathmandu, will administer the jabs from 145 vaccination centers.
Chief Public Health Administrator of the office, Badri Bahadur Khadka, said that as many as 32 vaccination centers had been designated in Kathmandu Metropolitan City, 10 in Kirtipur, 15 in Chandragiri, 10 in Nagarjun, 11 in Tarkeshwor, nine in Dakshinkali, 13 in Budhanilkantha, 11 in Tokha and nine each in Gokarneshwor, Shankarapur and Bageshwori Manahar.
Similarly, vaccination centers have also been set up at Nepal Police Hospital, Maharajgunj, Armed Police Force Hospital, Balambu, Bir Hospital, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Civil Service Hospital, Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital and Birendra Army Hospital.
For those outside the Kathmandu Valley, people can contact their respective ward offices to learn about the vaccination center that is near them.
The government had brought 4.4 million doses of Vero Cell vaccine from China on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Central and Sudurpaschim Field Office of Save the Children handed over health materials worth over Rs 10,000,000 to the Karnali Province government in Surkhet on Saturday.
Two ventilators, 3,474 PPE sets, eight oxygen concentrators, among other health materials, were handed over to the Province’s Social Development Minister, Yagya Bahadur Budha Chhetry.
