A meeting of the District Administration Offices (DAOs) of the three districts of Kathmandu Valley has decided to extend the current prohibitory order in the Valley by another week till July 5 with further relaxations.
The meeting of Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts was continued today after failing to reach a decision on Sunday.
The shops which sells ‘essential items’ including grocery stores, vegetable shops, dairy shops, meat shops and book shops will be allowed to remain open till 6:00 pm.
Meanwhile, the departmental stores, clothes shops, electronic appliances shops, hardware shops, mobilephone shops, gift shops, utensil shops, jewelry shops among other shops will be allowed to open from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Similarly, online shopping and restaurant with delivery and takeaway service can be operated till 7:00 pm.
The meeting has also allowed vehicle workshops to open till 7:00 pm.
The three DAOs has also allowed the public vehicle with seating capacity above 25 people to operate with minimum passengers from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm. The driver and conductor of vehicle will need to wear masks while conductor will also need to wear gloves and sanitise the vehicle time-to-time.
No new decision has been made for other small public transport vehicles.
At present, private vehicles and taxis are allowed to operate in the Valley according to the odd-even system and businesses are allowed to operate on the basis of daily schedules fixed by the previous meeting of CDOs.
