The prohibitory order issued in the Kathmandu Valley, which was supposed to end today, has been extended for another week. After discussions with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the three Chief District Officers of the Valley have decided to extend the prohibitory order for one more week.
However, this time the District Administration Office (DAO) will bring some changes to current modality allowing some of the services to operate as stakeholders recommended partial lifting of the lockdown citing hardship faced by the people due to absolute closure of all kinds of activities.
The employees working at regular services providing companies are allowed to leave from-and-to office from 9:00 am to 10:30 am and 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Hotels and restaurants will remain closed. Essential service organization, including banks, will be allowed to provide services by maintaining the minimum number of employees and following the standards health security protocol.
Following the increase of the coronavirus cases in the Valley, the three CDOs had issued a one-week restraining order with effect from August 19.
